1.4 WALTER FICK (ROBERT6, JOHN5, JOHN4, JOHN3, JOHANN DANIEL2, JOHANN HEINRICH1)  was born on the 26th of April, 1884, in Douglas, Isle of Man, and died on the 3rd of May, 1918, in Epsom, England. He married MONA MARGARET CUBBON on the 31st of January, 1904, in Douglas, Isle of Man.  She was a daughter of WILLIAM CUBBON and MARY MORRISON. Mona was born on the 3rd of August, 1884, in Rushen, Isle of Man, and died on the 6th of July 1957 in Toronto, Ontario.

Walter immigrated to Canada on the 29th of April, 1912, aboard the S.S. Tunisian from Liverpool, England. Destination - Kingston, Ontario, where his brother William was already established. His daughter Evelyn emigrated on the 25th of October, 1913, aboard the Empress of Britain, from Liverpool, England, and joined him in Kingston. Mona and Walter (Jr.) emigrated on the 3rd of October, 1914, aboard the S.S. Hesperian, from Liverpool, England, to Toronto, Ontario where Walter and Evelyn were then living. In Toronto Walter was employed as a Conductor for the Toronto Street Railway. He enlisted in the Canadian Army, CEF 204th Battalion, on the 1st of May, 1916 and is described in his Attestation (enlistment) Document as being 5’-4-1/4” tall, fair complexion, blue eyes and with fair hair. Walter died at the Horton County of London War Hospital, Epsom, England from pneumonia contracted while recovering in hospital from a gunshot wound to arm and shoulder received on the battlefield.
